about me
I am a highly skilled epidemiologist with expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and program evaluation. With a doctorate in Epidemiology from the University of South Carolina and my masters from Columbia University, I have a strong academic background in health research and analysis.
My research interests primarily revolve around understanding the impact of social determinants of health on vulnerable populations. I have been involved in several research studies focusing on food insecurity in youth and young adults with diabetes, sleep duration and body mass index analysis, and socioeconomic disparities in health outcomes.
Throughout my career, I have expanded my knowledge around software and coding, effectively leveraging this on my work in public health and often expanding beyond. In my current role as a City Research Scientist at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, I collaborate with diverse stakeholders to ensure data-informed decision making. I develop user-friendly dashboards, lead data collection efforts, and manage complex collaborative projects. I am skilled in analyzing large administrative datasets and coding across multiple languages.
Beyond my technical expertise, I am a natural leader and mentor. I have successfully led teams with diverse skill sets, provided guidance, and facilitated professional development. I actively contribute to initiatives promoting diversity, inclusion, racial equity, and social justice in the field of mental hygiene.
I am passionate about using my analytical skills and research background to drive meaningful change in public health. With a proven track record in project management, data analysis, and effective communication, I am dedicated to making a positive impact on population health outcomes.
